On Saturday the 13th of October Flaxmere Library celebrated 21 years since first opening their doors within the Flaxmere Community Centre. It was a day of fun, food and entertainment with staff, both old and new, celebrating alongside valued patrons. Children had the pleasure of being entertained by the district's much loved story teller Mary Kippenberg, whilst adults were able to choose from the great selection of books on sale. A thoroughly good time was had by all and no doubt there will be many more celebrations to come.
The day was also an opportunity for everyone to farewell library manager Karen Shields who (sadly for us) was leaving for foreign shores.
