Earthy Else flicks the switch for EARTH HOUR

Hi, I’m Elsie.

My colleagues like to call me “Earthy Elsie”, or occasionally when they are really trying to make the point, they go so far as to call me “Earth Mother”. I just laugh – because it’s true that I really do care about the earth, and I am not afraid to declare it to the world.

Did you know that this Saturday 28 March from 8.30pm – 9.30pm is EARTH HOUR?

Earth Hour is a global crusade to take control of the future of our planet. By switching off your lights (and any other unneeded appliances) on Saturday night you will be joining the world-wide campaign to show that you care about our earth’s sustainability.

If you don’t fancy being alone in the dark, there is a celebration of Earth Hour at Hawke’s Bay Opera House Plaza from 7pm. It sounds like fun.

Wherever you are on Saturday night, I do so hope that your lights are off.

Elsie
